Visiting Petra was my favorite part of our Jordan trip. We spent the day exploring ruins and hunting for the Holy Grail. Petra was built around 400 BC, but only introduced to the Western world in 1812. The walk from the entrance to the Monastery at the back was about four miles, so we had lots of ground for discovery.
We enlisted some donkeys to get a better view.
The Monastery:
The day started by walking through a massive gorge.
We enlisted some donkeys to get a better view.
My backside has a limit for riding donkeys, so we had to work harder for the remaining sights.
Petra by Night at the Treasury:
Okay, now everybody go watch Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
It is a thrill to follow you through your wonderful blog. Are you going to print this out when your tour is over?
