So Many Teeth

Swimming with great white sharks was my highlight of the trip.  It was awesome.  Awesome.  Our adventure took place in Gansbaai near the southern most point of Africa.

We boarded the boat with our sweet jackets and cruised into deeper, shark infested waters.

Once the boat was surrounded by powerful creatures with sharp teeth, a cage was attached to the side of the boat for people to get in the water with our new cuddly friends.

The crew used bait to encourage the sharks to swim as close to the cage as possible.  This sometimes meant that the sharks would crash into the cage.

Then it was our turn to dress like seals and hop into the cage.

This is what sharks looks like on the surface:

And this is what sharks looks like under the water:

Being that close to a shark in the water was an experience, but the viewing from the boat was even better.  A stingray also joined the party.

We survived with all our fingers and toes.  Good thing the sharks didn't want to taste the Gators.

Then we returned to shore to enjoy another beautiful sunset.

Hope you have a fabulous birthday Megan.
